The Inter-Service Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) has declared that Prof Muhammad Zafar Iqbal is now out of danger.
The professor is now fully conscious, responsive, and safe, said an ISPR press release.
ISPR said after the professor was attacked on March 3, he received necessary treatment at Sylhet AMG Osmani Medical College Hospital. Afterwards, at the behest of the prime minister, he was airlifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka for better treatment.
After he was admitted to CMH, specialists formed a five-man special medical board which oversaw important tests and took the measures required to heal him.
The medical board evaluated Dr Muhammed Zafar Iqbal’s health situation on Monday.
However, in order to ensure a speedy recovery and prevent any infections, visitation is being monitored strictly. The authorities are imploring his well-wishers to be patient in this regard.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went to CMH on Monday to visit Zafar Iqbal and learn about his treatment.
