Inspector General of Police (Prisons) Brig Gen Syed Iftekhar Uddin has informed journalists that according to Jail Code, Khaleda Zia is being kept as a general prisoner.
Talking to journalists on Sunday, when asked about kind of food the former prime minister and BNP chairperson is being given, the IGP said: "We are giving her the food that any normal prisoner would be given. Only dried food and fruits brought by relatives are being allowed inside the cell."
The IGP also said Khaleda Zia would be given division and other advantages if the court ordered it.

However, even though the IGP said that according to jail code, Khaleda Zia should be wearing clothes like a common prisoner, he did not confirm the matter.
On February 8, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was sentenced to 5 years in jail after a special court in Dhaka declared her guilty in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
