Two killed in Sherpur as picnic bus rams pick-up van

The deceased are Saiful, 13 and his cousin Abu Hamza, 13 from Sribordi upazila. According to the witnesses, a pick-up van – carrying 20 madrasa students – was heading to Jhinaigati’s Gajni Recreation Centre from Sribordi. When the van reached Jhinaigati’s Ahmednagar, a picnic bus hit the van from rear. Two students of class six died on the spot and five others got injured, the witnesses said. Injured students were rushed to Sherpur district hospital, they added. Acting-officer-in-charge of Jhinaigati police station Mizanur Rahman confirming the incident said the bus had been seized while the driver managed to flee.
