Expressing solidarity with BNP's 10-point demand, 11 political parties of the 20 Party Alliance announced that they will join the upcoming rally on December 24.
In a written statement on Saturday, the alliance also congratulated BNP for their successful Dhaka divisional rally at Golapbagh Ground in the capital on Saturday.
Secretary General of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Shahadat Hossain Salim told Bangla Tribune: "Eleven political parties congratulated BNP for their successful rally in Dhaka. The top leaders of the 11 parties have decided to jointly participate in the mass rally announced by BNP on December 24.”
The statement signatories - Bangladesh Welfare Party Chairman Syed Muhammad Ibrahim, NPP Chairman Dr. Fariduzzaman Farhad, Bangladesh Jatiya Dal Chairman Advocate Syed Ehsanul Huda, Muslim League Secretary General Advocate Sheikh Zulfikar Bulbul Chowdhury and others.
The BNP is holding its last rally, where it will announce its demands for launching a simultaneous movement.
The rally in the city began on Saturday morning, with the presence of thousands of leaders and activists of the party and its associate bodies.
BNP had announced 10-point demands, including the demand for the resignation of the ruling government and the dissolution of the current national parliament earlier on Saturday.
BNP Standing Committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain announced the points at 4pm from the BNP's Dhaka divisional mass meeting at Golapbag Ground in Dhaka.
