Krishak Sramik Janata League (KSJL) President Abdul Kader Siddique has formally joined the Jatiya Oikya Front.
“We decided [to join Oikya Front] to ensure the people’s voting rights and a free, fair, and inclusive polls,” the decorated freedom fighter told a press briefing at the party’s headquarters in Dhaka on Monday.
Oikya Front, a new political alliance, was formed on October 13, led by Dr Kamal Hossain. BNP, which boycotted the previous national election, is one of its key members.

The alliance’s demands include: the dissolution of parliament; election observing by a non-partisan government; the release of political prisoners,including BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia; and the withdrawal of “false cases” against opposition activists.
