Three people died after a car collided head-on with a truck in Narayanganj on Sunday night.
The incident took place on the Asian Highway in the Bhulta area of Rupganj upazila at around 11:30pm.
The deceased are Azad Hossain, 26, son of Abdul Hai of Dhaka’s Khilkhet, Alamgir Hossain, 39, son of Khalilur Rahman of Gazipur’s Tongi, and Rafiqul Islam, 31, son of Anwar Hossain of Chandpur.
Another person who was critically injured in the accident is now receiving treatment at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.

The victims were all passengers of the car, say police.
Following the incident, the highway police seized both vehicles but the truck driver and his assistant fled the scene.
“The families of the deceased have asked for the bodies to be handed to them without autopsy and the process is already underway,” said Md Salahuddin, the Inspector in-Charge of the police outpost in Bhulta.
“No case has been registered yet, but we are trying to arrest the truck driver and his assistant,” the Kanchpur Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Moniruzzaman said.
