Rescue efforts have been called off following the recovery of the bodies of the last two people who went missing after a boat capsize in Pabna’s Chalan Beel.
Bodies of Billal Gani and Swapan Biswas were recovered around 8am on Sunday. Later, the search was called off around 9:30am.
Saiful Islam, assistant director of Pabna Fire Service and Civil Defence, expressed his gratitude towards the team of divers from Rajshahi as well as members of Pabna and Chatmohar upazila fire service for recovering all five bodies within only 30 hours.

On August 31, a boat capsized after some of its passengers got on top of its cane shade to take a selfie, but ended up crashing through it and cracking the hull of the boat.
Seventeen people were rescued but five of them had remained missing.
