Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait urges nationals to stay vigilant

The Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait has urged all Bangladeshi expatriates residing in the country to exercise special caution and remain in safe locations amid rising regional tensions.

Citizens have also been advised to keep essential items with them at all times.

The appeal was made in an emergency notice issued on Saturday, against the backdrop of escalating hostilities between Iran and Israel in the Gulf region.

In the notice, signed by Head of Mission Mohammad Moniruzzaman, the embassy stated that in view of the evolving security situation following the outbreak of conflict in the Gulf, all Bangladeshi nationals in Kuwait are requested to remain particularly vigilant. For safety reasons, they have been advised to stay away from military installations and to remain inside their homes or in other secure places.

The notice further advised expatriates to avoid going outdoors unless absolutely necessary until the situation stabilizes. Considering the prevailing circumstances, citizens have been asked to keep essential items readily available at all times, including cash, Kuwait Civil ID, health insurance card, necessary medicines, mobile phone, phone charger, dry food and drinking water.

The embassy also urged Bangladeshi nationals to respect Kuwaiti laws and strictly follow the statements and instructions issued by the Government of Kuwait. It cautioned citizens to exercise restraint while using social media and refrain from uploading any videos or photographs related to the current regional situation.

In case of emergency, expatriates have been requested to contact the embassy through the hotline numbers +965 69920013, +965 66516404, +965 50895161 or via email at mission.kuwait@mofa.gov.bd.

The embassy said it would continue to monitor the situation closely and issue further guidance as necessary.
