DMP announces one-way traffic plan for some areas

To address daily traffic congestions in the Rampura area of Dhaka, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced a nine-day implementation of one-way traffic at Abul Hotel crossing, Medina Hotel crossing, Malibagh level crossing, and Khilgaon Community Center crossing.

According to a public notice signed by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali on Wednesday, this decision has been made to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce public inconvenience.

From Friday to March 8, one-way traffic will be enforced on these roads.

The notice states that vehicles travelling from Abul Hotel crossing will enter both lanes and proceed eastward through Medina Hotel crossing to Khilgaon Community Center crossing, without allowing vehicles to travel westward on this stretch.

As a result of this arrangement, vehicles coming from the Khilgaon Flyover will be rerouted to turn left at Malibagh level crossing, rather than turning right at the Khilgaon Community Center crossing, and will head towards Rampura Bridge.

Similarly, vehicles coming from Khilgaon and Taltala heading towards Abul Hotel will turn left at the Khilgaon Community Center crossing and follow the rerouted path through Malibagh Railgate towards Rampura Bridge or Mouchak.

The public notice further requests all vehicle operators in the areas surrounding Abul Hotel crossing, Medina Hotel crossing, Khilgaon Community Center crossing and Malibagh level crossing to strictly adhere to the directions specified in the accompanying sketch map.
