A woman has died while being under the custody of Mohammadpur police station.
The deceased Joshna Begum, 30, and three others were picked up by Mohammadpur police in the early hours of Tuesday.
“Joshna was detained and kept at Mohammadpur police station,” Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Tejgaon Division Deputy Commissioner (DC) Biplob Bijoy Talukdar said.
The deceased was first taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital after she fell sick.
Later, she was shifted to National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), where doctors declared her dead,” the DC said.
The autopsy was already completed at Suhrawardy Hospital morgue and the cause of death will be soon announced, he added.
