Headmaster attacked, gets his hands broken

The teacher, Shahjahan, 49, was later admitted in a critical state to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, popularly known as Pangu Hospital, in Dhaka. He is the headmaster of Pathanerkandi Government Primary School. When contacted, Shahjahan could not elaborate what had happened, but he claimed to have identified one of the attackers, Delwar Hossain, who hails from the same area. He could not ascertain the reason behind the attack. Lokman Hossain, general secretary of Araihazar Primary Teachers’ Association, said that the attackers hit Shahjahan haphazardly on his way to work around 11am. Sakhawat Hossain, OC of Araihazar police, confirmed the attack, and said that they were trying to arrest Delwar and others.
