The second phase of discussions between political parties and the National Consensus Commission is currently underway.
The talks began at 11:45am on Tuesday at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka.
It was previously announced that Tuesday's agenda would cover three key topics: concluding unfinished discussions from the previous phase (Article 70 of the Constitution, nomination of permanent committee chairpersons, and women’s representation), the proposal of a bicameral parliament (lower and upper houses), and the process of appointing the chief justice.
Following the discussion, National Consensus Commission Vice President Professor Ali Riaz will first brief the media.
Representatives of the political parties will brief the press afterward.
The discussions will continue for two more days, on Wednesday and Thursday.
