DMP issues special guidelines for Bishwa Ijtema

To ensure smooth movement of worshippers and efficient traffic management during Bishwa Ijtema, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued 13 specific guidelines.

Bishwa Ijtema 2025, along with the Akheri Munajat (final prayers), will take place from January 31 to February 5, with the Akheri Munajat scheduled for February 2 and 5.

The guidelines aim to minimize congestion and facilitate movement for millions of attendees, including international visitors.

On the days of Akheri Munajat, heavy vehicles such as inter-district buses, trucks, and covered vans will be required to avoid Abdullahpur and Dhaur Bridge intersections, using the Mohakhali-Bijoy Sarani-Gabtoli route instead.

Similarly, vehicles coming from the north via Nabinagar, Baipail, and Ashulia must reroute through Savar-Gabtoli or the Mirpur Beribadh via the Dhaur Bridge crossing.

Vehicles approaching Dhaka via Airport Road are advised to use the Kuril flyover through Pragati Sarani or take a U-turn at the Biswa Road crossing near the Nikunja-1 Catch Gate.

Those coming through the 300-Feet Road should avoid Kuril flyover Loop-2 (towards the airport) and use Pragati Sarani or Kuril flyover Loop-4 (towards Kakoli-Mohakhali). The Airport Road will remain strictly off-limits on these days.

Travelers are also requested to avoid Kawla/Airport-bound exits on the Dhaka Elevated Expressway during the Akheri Munajat.

Except for residents of Uttara, air passengers, operational vehicles for airport services, fire service vehicles, law enforcement vehicles, and ambulances, all others must use alternative routes, including the Mohakhali-Bijoy Sarani-Mirpur-Gabtoli road.

For those traveling on foot to the Ijtema grounds, the DMP has directed the use of the pontoon bridge or Kamarpara Bridge over the Turag River.

To assist foreign-bound passengers, transport services under the supervision of the Traffic-Uttara Division will operate at the Padma U-loop, Kuratoli Loop-2 , and Nikunja-1 Gate.

Vehicles carrying worshippers must keep drivers or helpers in the vehicle while parked, with all passengers and drivers exchanging mobile numbers for quick communication if necessary.

Each vehicle transporting worshippers must also display the driver’s name and mobile number prominently.

Due to the collapse of the Bailey Bridge beneath Abdullahpur on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway, vehicles must use the flyover from Azampur.

Pedestrians are strongly discouraged from crossing flyovers on foot to avoid accidents.

Parking will also be prohibited on both sides of the road from Khilkhet to Abdullahpur via Dhaur Bridge.

Instructions regarding vehicle parking

DMP has designated specific parking zones for vehicles based on their origin.
