The curfew will be relaxed for 11 hours from 7am to 8pm for four days from Wednesday to Saturday.
This will be effective in Dhaka Metropolitan and Dhaka District, Gazipur Metropolitan and Gazipur District, Narayanganj, and Narsingdi Districts.
This decision was announced by Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Tuesday, after a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The home minister told journalists that the situation across the country is gradually returning to normal.
“That is why we are extending the curfew relaxation period. The respective district commissioners will determine the curfew relaxation period for the remaining districts,” he added.
The government imposed a nationwide curfew from July 20 as violence spread across the country, centring the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. The curfew has been gradually relaxed since the imposition.
