Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni urged the universities of the country to give importance to global rankings.
She made the remarks at the National Mourning Day program organized by Daffodil Institute of IT in the capital on Monday afternoon.
She asked universities to be more proactive and focus on global rankings.
“Many people say that nothing will come out of the ranking,” she said, adding: “We need to be part of the global system to determine our position and quality of education.”
The education minister urged the universities to focus more on research work and invest some time to work on things that can help in getting a higher ranking.
