The Shahbagh metro rail station has been temporarily closed amid the nationwide quota reform protests.

Four of the station's gates have been locked on Thursday.

Currently, the members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) have been deployed at three other metro stations -- Shahbagh, Dhaka University and Secretariat for security purposes.

Passengers arriving at Shahbagh station were advised to use other stations.

The Bangla Blockade program is ongoing for the fourth day on Thursday, demanding quota reforms.

On July 7-8 and July 10, students observed a dawn-to-dusk blockade across the country.
