Defying rain, anti-quota protesters blocked the Kotbari section of the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Comilla as part of their Bangla Blockade program on morning Wednesday.
The program was scheduled to start at 10am but began at 11am.
Quota reinstatement: Supreme Court issues status quo on High Court’s verdictStudents from various educational institutions, including Comilla University and Comilla Victoria Government College, participated in the protest.
The students said they are protesting to reinstate a 2018 government circular cancelling quotas in government jobs.
Their sole demand is the abolition of the quota system, they said, adding that they seek fair distribution of jobs through the elimination of the quota system.
