6 including Abed Ali give confessional statements in PSC question leak case

Six people including Syed Abed Ali, former driver of the Public Service Commission (PSC) chairman, gave confessional statements in a case lodged over the leaking of question papers of different PSC exams.

The five other accused, who gave confessional statements are Khalilur Rahman, Sazedul Islam, Sakhawat Hossain, Sayem Hossain, and Liton Sarker.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate court after recording their statements sent the six accused to jail.

The court sent another accused Abu Sulaiman Md Sohel to jail as he declined to give a confessional statement at the last moment.

Meanwhile, the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Tahmina Haque sent 10 other accused including deputy directors of PSC Md Abu Zafar and Md Jahangir Alam to jail.

The case was filed by the CID with Paltan police station on Monday night under BPSC Act.

In the case, the names of 31 people have been mentioned and more than 50 unknown people have been made accused in the case.

A private television channel aired an investigation report on Sunday evening which uncovered the the scandal involving leaked question papers for 30 recruitment exams, including the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS).

According to the report, a syndicate of six officials and employees of the PSC had been involved in leaking exam questions for a long time.
