Zia draws with son

Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman played out a draw with his son Tahsin Tajwar Zia to lose top spot on the second day of the 1st SAARC Chess Championship in Dhaka Tuesday.

Another notable result among the chess prodigies was Candidate Master Manon Reja Neer drawing with International Master Mahmood Lodhi, despite playing with black pieces. 

Tahsin also played with black pieces and drew after 14 moves.

A total of 15 players jointly share the lead in the points table after the second round in the open section, including GM Enamul Hossain Razib and International Master Fahad Rahman. 

Four players are jointly leading the women’s section, including Women’s IM Rani Hamid.
