The National Defence College (NDC) at Mirpur Cantonment on Thursday concluded its Capstone Course 2026/1, a three-week strategic leadership program held from April 5 to 23.
Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman attended the closing ceremony as chief guest and distributed certificates among the fellows, according to a press release issued by Inter Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR).
A total of 45 participants—including parliamentarians, senior military and police officers, academics, physicians, representatives of government and non-governmental organizations, diplomats, and corporate leaders—took part in the course.
In his address, General Waker congratulated the fellows on completing the program and urged them to uphold constitutional responsibilities, strengthen national security, and work towards the country’s sustainable development.
Lieutenant General Md Faizur Rahman, commandant of NDC, highlighted the importance of informed dialogue and consensus-building on issues of national importance.
He said the fellows’ active and thoughtful engagement throughout the course had broadened strategic understanding and helped build a cross-sector leadership network.
The Capstone Course, one of NDC’s flagship programs, aims to enhance strategic awareness, foster critical thinking, promote interdisciplinary cooperation, and develop a shared understanding of national security and development issues.
Senior military and civil officials, faculty members, and dignitaries from the armed forces and other national institutions were present at the closing ceremony.
