The price of bottled soybean oil has been slashed by Tk10 per litre.
The revised price put bottled soybean oil at Tk179 per litre.
The Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association took the decision on Tuesday.
Besides, the price of loose soybean oil dropped by Tk8 to Tk159 per litre.
The new rates were fixed following discussions with the commerce ministry and the Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission, according to a statement.
According to the new rates, a five-litre bottle of soybean oil will cost Tk873, down by Tk43.
Meanwhile, the prices of palm oil have decreased as well.
According to the association, the price of loose palm oil has been reduced by Tk5 per litre to Tk128 while bottled palm oil price has been reduced by Tk12 per litre to Tk148.
Earlier on June 11, the authorities slashed the price of soybean oil by Tk10 per litre to Tk189 ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
