Three people, including two rickshaw pullers, were injured Wednesday after shattered glass littered the street following a gas geyser explosion on the fifth floor of the Victory Hotel in the capital’s Naya Paltan.
The blast took place at around 7:15pm, next to the BNP central office.
Paltan police station OC Abu Bakkar Siddiqui said a gas geyser could have exploded.
"The geyser was located in a bathroom on the fifth floor of the hotel. The explosion caused all the glass windows to shatter and rain on pedestrians, injuring three people, including two rickshaw pullers,” he added.
Of the injured, two people were given first aid, while another was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the OC said.
