The weather in the capital remained dry since Sunday morning. However, as the day progressed, clouds covered the sky. Around 2:30 pm, heavy rain began in different parts of the capital.
The Meteorological Department said that an extension of a western low-pressure area is positioned over West Bengal and adjoining areas. A low-pressure system is likely to form over the southwest Bay of Bengal and nearby areas by Monday.
According to the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9:00 am, temporary gusty or squally winds accompanied by lightning and rain or thundershowers may occur at one or two places in the divisions of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chittagong and Sylhet.
Day temperatures across the country may remain nearly unchanged, while night temperatures are likely to fall slightly.
