Three workers of a steel mill suffered burn injuries in an explosion at Basherpool in the Demra area of the capital on Sunday.
The injured were identified as Sabbir Hossain, 24, Tofazzal Hossain, 48, and Mazed Hossain, 52.
Witnesses said the explosion occurred at the Zahir Steel and Re-rolling Mills while workers were melting iron in the morning, leaving the trio injured.
Later, they were taken to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Shawon Bin Rahman, a resident physician at the institute, said among the injured, Sabbir suffered burns on 35% of his body, while Tofazzel suffered burns on 23% . They were shifted to the intensive care unit of the hospital.
Meanwhile, Mazed, who suffered a 1% burn, was given treatment at the emergency department of the institute, he said.
