Indian Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday informed the lower house of parliament that External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar would make a statement on the situation in Bangladesh.
Birla told the House that Jaishankar would make a suo moto statement at 3:30pm in the Lok Sabha, reports The Economic Times.
Jaishankar will also make a statement regarding the situation in Bangladesh at 2:30pm in the Rajya Sabha.
Earlier in the day, Jaishankar chaired an all-party meeting in parliament, briefing leaders on the ongoing developments in Bangladesh.
He discussed former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's move to India and assured that India would take care of the Bangladeshi leader, sources from the meeting told ANI.
Jaishankar mentioned that Hasina was in India and that the Indian government was giving her time to communicate her future plans to Delhi.
