Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday said he had a brief discussion on the current situation in Bangladesh with the newly appointed US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz in Washington, DC.
"Yes, we had a brief discussion on Bangladesh," Jaishankar told a group of Indian reporters at a news conference, responding to a query on whether the treatment of minorities in Bangladesh came up during his meetings with Rubio and Waltz.
"I don't think it's appropriate that I get into more details," the Indian minister added.
Jaishankar, who had earlier attended the swearing-in of Donald Trump as the 47th US president, held his first bilateral interaction with Rubio and Waltz after they assumed their roles in the new US administration.
