Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari, daughter of the late Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto and former president Asif Ali Zardari, on Friday got engaged to the son of a US-based businessman.
The groom Mahmood Choudhry and Bakhtawar exchanged rings in the presence of 100-150 guests, reports The Times Now.
The engagement ceremony was arranged in the open area of Bilawal House in Karachi.
Bakhtawar's father, former Pakistan president Asif Ali Zardari, who was shifted to a private hospital in Karachi in October, was also present at the event.
Her brother, Bilawal Bhutto, who tested Covid-19 positive earlier this week, joined the ceremony through a video link.
Very sentimental & emotional day. So grateful for everyone’s love & prayers. Especially our PPP family whom I know are eager to participate. InshAllah this is only the beginning - will be able to celebrate in a post Covid world. Please keep SMBB and our family in your prayers??

Among guests who blessed the couple at the ceremony were Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders, senior politicians, real estate tycoons, business giants, eminent lawyers, some legislators and close relatives.
Bakhtawar shared a picture of her and her fiancé Mahmood Choudhry, with a portrait of her late mother Benazir Bhutto in the background, on her social media accounts.
"Very sentimental & emotional day. So grateful for everyone’s love & prayers. Especially our PPP family whom I know are eager to participate. InshAllah this is only the beginning - will be able to celebrate in a post Covid world. Please keep SMBB and our family in your prayers," Bakhtawar tweeted earlier on Friday.
