A Bangladeshi has been sent back from Tripura, India, after the coronavirus screening at Akhaura Integrated Check Point (ICP) in Tripura, a hilly state in northeast India.
The man, a Chittagong resident, had high fever so the Indian health officials did not want any kind of risks, Tripura based online news portal Northeast Now reported.
“During coronavirus check-up at ICP on Tuesday, the medical help desk found that the man from Bangladesh was having high temperatures they immediately sent him back,” informed Debasish Das, the state’s chief medical officer.
Tripura Family Welfare and Preventive Medicines Director Radha Debbarma has informed the media that so far no coronavirus-related case has been reported in Tripura.
According to World Health Organization, now there are more than 121,000 cases in 121 countries and territories, while over 4,400 people have died, since it emerged in China in December.
The worst affected countries are China, (80,761 cases, of which 3,136 deaths), Italy (9,172 cases, 463 deaths), South Korea (7,513 cases, 54 deaths), Iran (8,042 cases, 291 deaths) and France (1,412 cases, 30 deaths).
