Four Bangladeshi nationals, who were injured during the US-Bangla BS211 plane crash in Kathmandu, have been released from hospital.
Shahreen Ahmed, Mehedi Hasan, his wife Saiyada Kamrunnahar Shwarna and Almun Nahar Annie, were released on Wednesday evening. They are free to return to Dhaka.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Nepal Mashfee Binte Shams has confirmed the matter to the media, saying that the embassy has cleared their documents for leaving Nepal.
All the four passengers were undergoing treatment at the Kathmandu Medical College (KMC).
Among the released passengers, Shahreen Ahmed is scheduled to board the 1:30pm flight to Dhaka on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Emrana Kabir Hashi, who was severely injured in the crash, remains in critical condition at the KMC.
Hashi’s relatives are scheduled to hold a meeting with the doctors at the hospital on Thursday, to consider the possibility of moving her to a better treatment facility abroad.
On the other hand, the physical condition of three other passengers-- Md Shahin Bepari, Md Kabir Hossain and Sheikh Rashed Rubayet-- has improved under treatment at the KMC.
Relatives of Eakub Ali, another passenger of the US-Bangla flight, have decided to take him to New Delhi for better treatment. Eakub will leave Norvic Hospital as soon as Indian authorities grant visas to him and his family members.
Md Rezwanul Haque, who was under treatment at Om Hospital, was taken to Singapore for treatment on Wednesday.
At least 50 people, including 26 Bangladeshis, were killed when the US-Bangla Airlines aircraft crashed and burst into flames in Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport on March 12.
The plane was carrying 71 people, including four cabin crews. Of the passengers, 36 were from Bangladesh, 33 from Nepal and one each from China and the Maldives.
