A mosque in the Indian capital Delhi has been converted into a temporary quarantine centre amid the aggressive surge of Covid-19 infections in the country.
“We have turned our mosque into a quarantine centre with 10 beds in view of the rise of Covid-19 cases as hospitals are struggling with huge surge of patients,” Mohammad Salim, joint secretary of Green Park Mosque Managing Committee, told newsmen on Friday.

He said the quarantine centre is equipped with 10 beds and medical facilities while the patients would be provided masks, sanitizers and medicines.
“We have also arranged medicines, masks, sanitizers and PPE kits for patients along with providing them food. Unfortunately, we do not have any oxygen supply but will try to get it as soon as possible,” Salim added.

India reported record 401,993 new Covid-19 cases and 3,523 deaths during the last 24 hours, according to the official data published on Saturday.
