Kuwaiti govt officer arrested for assaulting Bangladeshi migrant

The officer beat Jamal Uddin for not washing his car for three consecutive days

A government official of Kuwait's Ministry of Interior has been arrested for beating a Bangladeshi migrant worker in the Arab nation.

The Bangladeshi worker Jamal Uddin (41) was seriously injured when he was severely beaten for not washing the officer's car. 

Based on the complaint of Jamal Uddin's employer, the official of the Ministry of Interior was arrested on January 26.

Jamal Uddin used to work part-time at the officer's house.

Quoting the Ministry of Home Affairs, the local media Arab Times reported that the officer beat Jamal Uddin for not washing his car for three consecutive days.

According to a leading Bangladeshi newspaper, Jamal was hospitalized in critical condition. He is currently undergoing treatment in the ICU of the local Adan Hospital.

The Bangladeshi community leaders in Kuwait confirmed that the incident occurred on January 11.

Taking the incident seriously, the Ministry of Interior of Kuwait said that no one is above the law.
