Bangladesh’s gymnasts added six more medals on the third and final day of the Singapore Open Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Championship 2025, bringing their total to 13.

The team had won three medals on the first day, four on the second, and six on the final day - securing one gold medal each day.

The junior team, comprising Prenthoi Mro, Uting Wong Marma, and Menton Toni Mro, clinched the first gold in the team event, followed by Menton’s gold in the pommel horse.

Sunday, Uting Wong claimed gold in the vaulting table in the junior category.

Prenthoi Mro emerged as the most decorated Bangladeshi gymnast in the competition, winning five medals in total.

He bagged silver in both the high bar and vaulting table on the final day, after securing a bronze in the individual all-around on day one, followed by a silver and another bronze on day two.

Senior gymnasts also performed well.

Rafil Ahmed won silver in the high bar and bronze in the vaulting table, while Rajib Chakma earned bronze in the high bar on the final day.

Earlier, the senior team - comprising Rajib, Rafil, Wohai Mong Marma, and Jake Ashequl Islam - secured silver in the team event, while Ashequl won silver in the floor exercise.

“We hadn’t participated in any international tournaments for a year. The Singapore Open has given our players a valuable boost in both mileage and confidence ahead of the Asian Gymnastics Championships,” said Habibur Rahman, general secretary of the Bangladesh Gymnastics Federation.

The team is now set to travel to South Korea to compete in the 12th Asian Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Championship and the 18th FIG Junior Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships, scheduled to be held in Jecheon from June 5 to 9.
