BSJA–Walton Sports Carnival 2023 is set to raise its curtain Monday.
Involving the members of the Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association, the indoor games festival will begin with shooting, call bridge and archery discipline on the inaugural day.
Table tennis, carrom, chess, swimming and badminton are the other events in the week-long sports carnival.
Table tennis and carrom will host both single and doubles competition.
Champion, runners up and second runners up of each event will bag financial award and trophy.
Based on scores, one participant will be named “The Best” of the carnival.
An official press meet of the event was held at Bangabandhu National Stadium Saturday.
Walton Group additional director FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Don, BSJA president ATM Sayeeduzzaman, general secretary Anisur Rahman, tournament committee convenor Raiham al Mughni and member secretary Robiul Islam were present at the meet along with other leading sports journalists of the country.
Archery and shooting event will be held at the national hockey stadium while carrom, chess and call bridge events will be held at the BSJA office premises.
Table tennis and badminton events will be held at Shaheed Taj Uddin Indoor Stadium while swimming will be held at Ivy Rahman Swimming Pool.
