Bangladeshi-origin Ruqsana Begum, representing the United Kingdom, beat Tanjila Tanjila of Bangladesh in an enthralling 10-round fight in Dhaka Tuesday.
It was Ruqsana's debut fight in the ring in Bangladesh after moving to professional boxing from kickboxing few years ago.
With the win, the 39-year old Ruqsana clinched the WBU Intercontinental Championship title in the flyweight category Mahmud Hossain Opu/Dhaka Tribune
This is the first time in Bangladesh that professional boxing took place with the WBU Female Intercontinental Championship belt on the line.
Tanjila is 20 years younger than Ruqsana but showed no difficulty at the beginning, making the world kickboxing champion a bit uncomfortable.
Ruqsana seemed to be more in an observant mood in the first four rounds while Tanjila looked aggressive, attempting punches one after another.

Sura Krishna Chakma, arguably Bangladesh's first professional boxer, knocked out Anan Pongkhet of Thailand to win his fight in the second round.
In the last fight of the night, Al Amin lost to Indian boxer Dushyant in a six-round bout.
Meanwhile in the other matches, Utshob Ahmed, Jahidul Islam, Abu Talha Hridoy and Elliot Michele (France) beat Aminul Islam, Shahriar Shanto, Ashish Kumar (India) and Md Kawser respectively.
