Bangladeshi racer Avik Anwar accomplished yet another achievement as he won the UAE Pro Championship GT86 Class. Avik, who was the first Bangladeshi to win an international motorsports event, now has added yet another international success along with his wins in India, Malaysia & UAE.
After winning the title the racer dedicated his triumph to his very good friend and national men’s cricket team ODI captain Tamim Iqbal.
On his social media, Avik expressed that Tamim ignited him to get more success and he took the opportunity to repay his inspiration.
"Let me tell you a story, I am friends with an awesome cricketer who goes by the name of Tamim Iqbal, he told me one day back in 2017 'bhai ato race kore laab ki jiten na toh' [it is of no use taking part so many races if you don’t win]. After I won my first race in 2019 I called him and he was so proud but I couldn't dedicate the win to him. But today I dedicate my race win to him. I have won again for Bangladesh and I am the only person to win 1st place trophies for my country in international motorsports. UAE done, the world is my oyster. Alhamdulillah for everything, joy bangla!" said Avik on facebook.
