Bangladesh beat Kyrgyzstan, lose to Australia and Bulgaria

Bangladesh’s seventh, eighth and ninth round games against Turkmenistan, Philippines and Indonesia respectively will be held Sunday

Bangladesh chess team Saturday beat Kyrgyzstan by 4-2 games in the sixth round of the Fide Online World Chess Olympiad Division 2, which is being held in online platform.

In the sixth round match of Pool A, Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman, International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman, Women’s IM Sharmin Sultana Shirin and Women’s Candidate Master Ahmed Walijah of Bangladesh won their respective ties, while GM Reefat bin Sattar and WIM Rani Hamid lost theirs.

Earlier in the fourth and fifth round Saturday, Bangladesh lost to Australia by 2-4 game points and Bulgaria by 0-6 game points respectively.

Bangladesh now have two match points and 12 game points.

Bangladesh’s seventh, eighth and ninth round games against Turkmenistan, Philippines and Indonesia respectively will be held Sunday.
