With the participation of 16 schools coming from across the country, the three-day long Bangabandhu Inter-School Basketball Tournament 2020, sponsored by Duranta Bicycle, will get underway at Dhanmondi Basketball Gymnasium in Dhaka Thursday.
Nine schools are from the capital - reigning champion Saint Joseph, Scholastica, Green Herald, Maple Leaf, Mastermind, Saint Gregory, Sunnydale, Dhanmondi Tutorial and Sir John Wilson School.
Other participants are Quantum Cosmo School (Bandarban), St. Philips High School (Dinajpur), Ispahani Public School (Comilla), St. Nicholas High School (Gazipur), Baliapukur Bidyaniketan (Rajshahi), Jorpukuria Secondary School (Gangni) and Muslim Academy (Jashor).
The opening round consists of 16 schools split into four groups before the four group winners advance to the semi-finals.
