Junayna Ahmed and Mahmudun Nobi won bronze in the women's 200m freestyle and men’s 100m butterfly events respectively on the first day of swimming at Satdobato Sports Complex Thursday.
The UK-born Bangladeshi expatriate swimmer Junayna clocked 2:12.83s to finish third while Gaurika Singh bagged gold with 2:05.06s.
Nobi notched bronze with a timing of 55.25s as Sri Lankan swimmer Mathew Duncun won gold with 53.65s.
The men’s team comprising Asif Reza, Ariful Islam, Nobi and Mahfuzur Rahman Sagor won bronze in the men’s 4x100m freestyle event.
Ariful finished fourth in the 200m breaststroke event with 2:23.02s.
