The young Bangladesh shuttlers rose several places in the badminton ranking after a strong showing at the Yonex-Sunrise International Junior Championship.

Bangladesh claimed three gold medals in five events and the young shuttlers were rewarded with the release of the latest ranking.

For the first time in his career, Abdul Hamid Lokman rose to 50th place, and he duly expressed delight.

He said, “We have been able to be successful thanks to everyone’s inspiration. We can do it in future too. Thanks to everyone for being beside us.”

Alongside Lokman, Sibgat Ullah (51st), Gourav Singha (57th), Mangal Singha (94th), Akib Solaiman (132nd), Khandakar Abdus Sowad (168th), Mohammad Hanif (186th) and Rownak Nabi Priyo (209th) also improved their ranking.
