The week-long Marcel-BSPA Sports Carnival came to an end Thursday with the presentation ceremony.
Mohammad Kabirul Islam was named Sportsperson of the year 2018 by the organisers, Bangladesh Sports Press Association.
Kabirul finished first in the swimming and badminton doubles, emerged as the runners-up in carom and finished third in the carom doubles.
BSPA’s senior member Arif Sohel finished second behind Kabirul while Mohammad Shamim Hasan ended third.
