Chittagong emerged as the champion in the Walton Inter-Division and Inter-District Basketball Championship 2018 after handing host Dhaka a hard-fought defeat of 64-56 points in the final at Dhanmondi Basketball Gymnasium Saturday.
The winning side led the opening half 33-26 and continued to dominate the opponent with the same pace in the latter half.
Romel and Intezar caged 18 and 15 points respectively for Chittagong while Sajid and Shuvo scored 18 and 15 respectively for Dhaka.
The champion received a check of Tk30,000 as prize money while the runners-up were handed Tk20,000.
Members of the winning team also got an iron each from the sponsor while the Dhaka players received one charge-light each.
Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, MP, distributed the prizes among the winners as chief guest.
