Bangladesh young basketball boys registered their third victory in the South Asian Basketball Association U-16 Boys’ Basketball Championship after handing Maldives a huge defeat of 117-52 in their fourth match in Nepal on Friday.
It was the fourth day of the event and Bangladesh’s last match of the group.
It was their second straight victory after beating host Nepal by 68-56 points in their previous match on Thursday.
Bangladesh earlier began their campaign with a convincing 117-43 win over Bhutan before conceding a hard-fought defeat of 83-64 points in the second match.
The top finishers from the tournament will qualify for the Fiba U-16 Asian Championship, scheduled to be held later this year, but Bangladesh, whose place is confirmed among the top two, have little chance of becoming south Asia champion.
