Bangladesh Army picked up their second consecutive victory in the President’s Cup Hockey when they thumped Bangladesh Police 5-0 at Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium in Dhaka Saturday.
Police, who drew their previous game 2-2 against Bangladesh Air Force, went behind in the third minute to ma Ahsan Habib field goal.
Army then outclassed Police with goals from Mamun Mia, Milon Hossain, Tanjim Ahmed and Shariful Islam.
In the other match of the day at the same venue, Bangladesh Hockey Federation green team beat red team 4-2; Ashraful Islam, Mahbub Hossain and Fazle Rabbi for green team and Sohanur Rahman Sabuj and Shihab Hossain for red team among the scorers.
BHF organized the tournament to mark the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
