Bangladesh Navy continued to smash in the goals in the 31st National Hockey Gold Cup Tournament as they handed Narail district a crushing 43-0 defeat in Paltan’s Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday.
After netting 31 goals against Gazipur district in their previous match, Saturday's result means they have scored 74 in only two matches. Din Islam Emon and Krishna Kumar scored nine and seven respectively but none managed to grab the hat-trick while Fazle Hossain Rabby, Romman Sarkar and Imran Hasan scored five, four and three respectively.
There were also bagful of goals in the other matches with a total 78 recorded from four games. Bangladesh Air Force outplayed Khulna district with a massive 27-0 margin with Shamim Mia scoring six times. Gazipur district defeated Meherpur district 6-1 while Patuakhali district beat Rajshahi district 2-1.
