Bangladesh succumbed to their third defeat in the AHF Cup U-21 Women’s Hockey Qualifiers when they lost 6-0 to Uzbekistan in Singapore Saturday.

The gulf in class between the two teams was clearly evident from the beginning of the game as Uzbekistan took the lead in just the second minute.

Uzbekistan, one of the tournament favorites, doubled their lead in the 15th minute before adding two more goals in the 17th and 30th minute.

The physically superior Uzbekistan side completed the rout in the third and fourth quarter by netting two more.

Bangladesh opened their Qualifiers campaign with a defeat against the home side before beating Sri Lanka in what was the women in red and green’s first ever international win.

Bangladesh then lost 1-0 to Hong Kong in their third game.

Bangladesh will conclude their Qualifiers mission Sunday against Chinese Taipei.

With three losses and a win from four games, Bangladesh are out of the running for a berth in the final round next year in India with only the top two teams from the six-nation Qualifiers advancing.
