Update : 09 Oct 2026, 06:02 PM

Bangladesh will compete against Asia’s hockey powerhouses at the Hero Asian Champions Trophy in India from October 27 to November 5 after being included in the six-team tournament following Pakistan’s withdrawal.

The tournament will be held in Jalandhar and Mohali, with hosts India joined by Bangladesh, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea and China in the battle for the continental title.

According to the official schedule approved by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) on October 8, Bangladesh will begin their campaign on October 27, the opening day of the competition.

Pakistan’s withdrawal paved the way for Bangladesh to enter the prestigious tournament, giving the team an opportunity to compete against some of the strongest sides in Asian hockey.

The 2026 edition will run until November 5, with Bangladesh hoping to make the most of their opportunity to gain valuable experience against higher-ranked opponents.

The tournament will provide a major test for Bangladesh as they seek to improve their competitiveness at the continental level.
