In the day's opening match, Sri Lanka beat Fiji 5-3 to finish seventh.
In the meantime, top-ranked Malaysia emerged as the champion after beating China 5-3 in the penalty shootout at the same venue in the afternoon.
Malaysia will remember the game for a long time to come as they staged a brilliant comeback to clinch the title. China went ahead 2-0 within 22 minutes. Malaysia pulled one back two minutes later before equalising the margin in the last quarter.

Stipulated time ended with the score locked at 3-3 but it tells very little about how narrowly the home side overcame their opponent. They trailed 3-2 with seconds left on the clock and only a dramatic penalty corner changed the scenario of the game at the last moment.
It turned out to be the last penalty corner. Captain Russel Mahmud Jimmy's initial push was stopped by Kamruzzaman Rana before Mamunur Rahman Chayan's hit was eventually blocked. Sarwar Hossain's shot on the rebounder was punched away by the opposition goalkeeper before Jimmy's aerial push found the back of the net. Bangladesh got their equaliser, the final whistle blew and the game rolled into tiebreaker.
The shootout began with both sides missing their first penalty. Drag-and-flick specialist Chayan surprisingly shot wide. Romman Sarkar also missed his chance. Ghana missed their first chance and Krishno Kumar ensured the home side would finish fifth.
Mainul Islam Kaushik and Jimmy also converted their chances.
However, it was the visiting side who went ahead with two minutes into the second quarter. Johnny Botsio scored the African side before Chayan brought parity two minutes later.
Chayan struck again in the same quarter, in the 21st minute, from a penalty corner but Akaba Elikem put things level in the 43rd minute.
Mathew Damalie’s effort gave Ghana the lead again in the 53rd minute, courtesy a penalty stroke, before Jimmy grabbed a dramatic equaliser at the death.
