Bangladesh hockey team finished sixth in the Asian Games 2018 after losing 7-0 to rising powerhouse South Korea in the fifth-sixth place decider in Jakarta, Indonesia Saturday.

Kim Jung-hoo opened the scoring in the ninth minute before Seo In-woo doubled the lead in the 15th minute. Jeong Jun-woo made it 3-0 in the 26th minute before Jang Jong-hyun scored from a penalty corner a minute later.

Jeong bagged South Korea’s fifth goal from another penalty corner in the 33rd minute. Jung Man-jae grabbed his second in the 44th minute from another penalty corner before Lee Jung-jun completed the rout for the 14th ranked South Korea in the 57th minute.

Bangladesh, ranked 31st, had earlier booked their berth in the 2022 Asiad after beating Oman and Kazakhstan. Malaysia then defeated Bangladesh before the men in red and green beat Thailand. Bangladesh then qualified for the fifth-sixth place decider after losing to Pakistan.
