Bangladesh began their Asian Games 2018 hockey campaign with a 7-1 defeat against India in the warm-up match at GBK Sports Complex in Indonesia Friday. Ashraful Islam scored Bangladesh’s only goal from penalty corner in the last quarter of the game.
Both the men’s and women’s hockey events will be held from Sunday to September 1. A total of 12 men’s and women’s teams will compete in the 18th edition of the Asiad.
Bangladesh have been drawn in Pool B along with Malaysia, Pakistan, Oman, Thailand and Kazakhstan. Pool A comprises host Indonesia, India, South Korea, Japan, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong.
