Omar Faruk Babu, the Bangladesh midfielder who made his international debut against India on Tuesday, found the inspiration to go ahead.
Babu might be short in stature, but he was not short of tricks as he produced a couple of superb footwork to go past his Indian rivals and he relished the moment of his international debut by saying, “It was a dream come true.”
“From my childhood I dreamt of playing for Bangladesh national team and it happened at last. I feel proud and look forward to put my best,” said Babu.
Babu is almost certain of a first 11 place today as skipper Mamunul Islam may take the field, but not as a part of the playing 11."It was a tough match against India and pressure was there, however I tried my best to put a good show. Frankly India did not appear as hard as I expected, but unfortunately we did not win the match," said the midfielder.
Babu said he can’t forget the moment. "I cried a lot, I could not resist the tears, it would have been a great achievement but we did not taste it," concluded Babu.
